In the Gazetteer, for "Linn county, OR",
error is "stf_find_cnty: county 4 does not exist in state 41 (OR)".

This bug was reported to chris.stuber@census.gov on 1/30/96 and again on 2/5/96 and 3/12/96. This problem was reportedly fixed on 3/13/96. Please inform lookup@census.gov if it recurs.

"View source" shows the resulting HTML which may include erroneous 2-digit county codes; e.g.

In the Gazetteer
Error is "cod_read_data passed a codata containing no DE's."
This bug is reproducible, and associated with the Gazetteer ONLY -
not with LOOKUP at www.census.gov or any other server.
It occurs also for (at least) tables P1 and P80-98 in STF3A,
and table P1 in STF1A.
It occurs on at least two platforms - XWindows Netscape 1.22, and
Mac Netscape 1.12.
The bug was fixed by chris.stuber@census.gov on 1/23/96.
Please notify lookup@census.gov if problems continue.
The bug affected (at least) La Plata county CO - but not La Plata City MD,
nor for Montezuma county, CO. It affected also (at least):

Data for Puerto Rico (PR) are incorrect in
the U.S. Gazetteer.
The Census questionnaire used in PR was different from
that used in the United States (eg. no race, different marital status, etc.)
Hence the data layout on the PR CD-ROM is non-standard.
The retrieval software has not been modified to accommodate the
PR record format.
To reduce confusion, PR has been removed from the list of states
available in LOOKUP. However, PR "counties" and "places" are still
accessible through the U.S. Gazetteer; STF1A and STF3A data obtained for those
areas will be incorrect.
