STF3A

Several STF3A CDs need to be re-mastered by the Bureau of the Census. An explanatory note was received from Jim Clark on 3/1/95.

In November 1994 a replacement (disk90) was issued for the defective 1992 TIGER (DE,DC,VA) (disk 199). Two CDs (disk142 and disk158) were reissued in October 1995 to correct STF3A errors in the New England states. The remaining problems remain to be corrected.

STF1D/STF3D (104th Congressional Districts)

On 10/2/95 Sherry Quinones (Sherry@ruf.rice.edu) reported problems with the STF1D/3D CD with 104th Congressional districts (disk250). She reported that employment tables were missing for two states.

Further investigation revealed that in (at least) table 62, state level STF3D data for the following states (only) contain numbers without leading zeros.

        13 Georgia
        22 Louisiana
        27 Minnesota
        45 South Carolina
        51 Virginia
It is not yet known whether the problem also affects other tables, other geographic levels, STF1D, or the older CD with 103rd Congressional Districts. The problem was reported to webmaster@census.gov on 10/2/95. (Who can shed more light on this problem?) In addition the data for Puerto Rico are missing.

1992 TIGER

In- and Out- County Migration

Several errors were discovered by a Florida newspaper in May 1995. An explanatory note was distributed by Peggy Walker, Florida Atlantic University, on 5/18/95, and subsequently corrected by Dave Paletz of the Census Bureau.
