The file /etc/fstab in your work station should include the NFS location, for example
bigsur.lbl.gov:/export/cdrom/cd043of each CD-ROM, and the location, for example
/CEDRCD/disk181where you want it mounted in your own work station.
In addition, for NFS access to CD-ROM software and documentation, the file /etc/fstab should include the NFS location
cedr.lbl.gov:/data9/old/parep2and the location, for example
/CEDRCD/data1where you want that file system mounted in your own work station. We illustrate the format of the file /etc/fstab with recent examples from two work stations: To mount all the CD-ROM diskettes, log in to your work station as root, modify the file /etc/fstab, and type "mount -vat nfs". Then all the CD-ROMs will be available to all users of your work station. The file /etc/fstab must be modified (and the CD-ROMs remounted) whenever the NFS locations at the University of California are changed. The current NFS locations of all the diskettes are described in the URL
In addition, the NFS location
cedr.lbl.gov:/data9/old/parep2is subject to change. Its current location is specified in the document you are now reading.
Please inform Deane Merrill (dwmerrill@lbl.gov) if you wish to be notified additionally by electronic mail, of changes in NFS locations.
