Access to the Lynx Web browser

Access to the Lynx Web browser To access the World Wide Web (WWW) from a computer that does not have a Web browser (or Web client) you can access the non-graphic Web browser "Lynx" as follows. No password is required.

To run from a Internet computer that has telnet capability (for example Compuserve), do the following.

The first command will differ according to your own computer. For example, from Compuserve, type "go telnet", then "8", then "cedr.lbl.gov", then hit (ENTER) after the next two prompts.
When you get the "login:" prompt, type "www" followed by (ENTER).
To return to Compuserve, hit (CONTROL) and "]" simultaneously, then (ENTER).
