How to install a new substate geographic level (e.g. PRSP83) in SEEDIS. 1. put into sy$ush1:[seedis]prsp83.d1 a line containing names of keys, e.g. FIPS.STATE DOL.PRSP83 2. edit the file sy$ush1:[seedis.extract]keyfile.dat. First line (number of levels) is augmented by one. Next few lines contain an integer (number of keys) for each level. Add a new integer (2) indicating the number of keys. At the end of the file add: PRSP83 FIPS.STATE DOL.PRSP83 3. Set default to sy$ush1:[seedis.extract] and run keydirr.exe by typing run keydirr This will make a new version of keydirr.dat. 4. In sy$ush1:[seedis.area]prsp83.stb put a codata file containing keys (FIPS.STATE and DOL.PRSP83) and an area name STUB.GEO. All elements must be type A. Keys are use K, stub is use S. There should be a line "*LEVEL = PRSP83" before the first DE line. Use cosort to put file in geocode sort order. 5. Edit sy$ush1:[seedis]area.com as follows: (1) change date in line 1; (2) insert a line "$if level.eqs."PRSP83" then goto PRSP83"; (3) insert a line "$prsp83:" at the appropriate point for substate processing. 6. To test, move to an empty directory and type: seedis cancel area prsp83 montana (for example) quit review $cat geocode. (examine geocode file) area prsp83 us (for example) review $cat geocode. (examine geocode file) quit 7. Edit sy$ush1:[seedis.databases]level.cod to include an entry for the new geographic level. Add 1 to the "AREAS=" card. 8. Edit sy$ush1:[seedis.databases]level.inc to include today's date. Make any other necessary changes to definitions of scope, device, etc. 9. Set default to sy$ush1:[seedis.databases] and type @level When prompted for input, browse through document. Type quit to continue. This will remake level.rof, level.hel, and [seedis.docs]appxd.rof. 10. To test, move to an empty directory and type seedis area show (browse as desired) quit quit 11. set default to sy$ush1:[seedis.bky] and type submit/par=(level,,) update.com This will update the SEEDIS level document on GSS tapes 15793 and 15795, for subsequent printing on narrow paper. 12 set default to sy$ush1:[seedis.lblh.tapebases] and type submit/par=(15793,,) lsttape1.com submit/par=(15795,,) lsttape1.com This will update the GSS directories ]15793.df and 15795.df on sy$ush1:[seedis.lblh.tapebases].
