GSS: gsslist works correctly.
BCK: backup works correctly.
SL: file 1 = 80-char records.
3840: file 1 consists of 3840-char records, except GSS.
other: none of the above.

Further breakdown of SL classification:
SLPENDING: file 3 = 80-char records and file 4 unknown.
SL1F: file 3 = 80-char records and file 4 = known EOF.
SLNOT1F: file 3 not 80-char records, or file 4 known not EOF.

(8/13/94) Merrill created crontab entry to daily put updated
tape_by_tape summaries in WWW, and save changed versions.
software development

(8/5/94) Su modified tartape to look at 4 files
instead of 3. "Other" option will be run on all new tapes, and
all tapes known to be neither GSS nor BCK.

(8/12/94) Su modified tartape to archive DUMPTAPE output,
and to archive and translate standard label from SL tapes.
special tasks

(8/5/94) Asztalos still unsuccessful in reconstituting damaged GSS tape
38813 (or its backup). Requested help from Lam Wong and Eric Beals.
