1920 U.S. Census in Shelburne, Franklin County, Massachusetts

The population of Shelburne in 1920 was 1437. There were 436 households, in 360 dwellings.

Many of the households were extended families including grandchildren, aunts and uncles, nephews and nieces, and in-laws. Many households included unrelated boarders, especially males aged 15-25 who worked as laborers.

Principal surnames among the 1437 individuals were SMITH (29), BARDWELL (25), SOMMER (24), WOOD/WOODS (23), FISKE (20), BROWN and LONG (19 each), BARNARD (18), JOHNSON (17), TAYLOR (16), BURNAP and TRUESDELL (15 each), JONES and PHILLIPS (13 each), CROMACK, FIELD, MILLER, PECK, SMEAD and WHEELER (12 each), DAVENPORT, GOULD, MARCH, PERKINS, SPENCER and THOMPSON (11 each), MANN, RICHARD/RICHARDS and WARD (10 each)
