Deane Merrill emailed Mr. Joslyn inquiring about his sources.  Mr. Joslyn replied as follows on 9/15/2000:

Dear Mr. Merrill

Thanks for your call today and e-mail. Sorry I missed your call.

The work I did for Ted Merrill was some years ago and, because of space problems, I weed out inactive client files every so many years. Sorry to report, I no longer have copies of the work I did for Ted Merrill and would be hard pressed to remember much of it!

I lived in Boston for ten years, during which time I did a substantial amount of work for clients with ancestry and other interests there. While some of today's work still takes me into New England records, I would recommend that if you need assistance, you check with local researchers there, or someone competent in Salt Lake City. You mentioned Neil Thompson, who would be a good bet.

I regret I cannot be of any help to you, but wish you much luck.

Sincerely yours

Roger D. Joslyn, CG, FASG
