Gravestone Inscriptions in Shelburne, Massachusetts
Summary:
In the spring of 1991 the Shelburne Historical Society encouraged a committee of interested members to record all of the then remaining information on gravestones in Shelburne's five cemeteries (and nearby Hawks Cemetery, in Deerfield).
The committee members are listed in the Preface.
The paper records are at the Shelburne Historical Society. There are three volumes: an Arms cemetery volume and two binders of Other Shelburne Cemeteries, identified here as Volume 1 and Volume 2. Volume 1 contains the Hill (Old Village) Cemetery; Volume 2 contains the remaining Shelburne cemeteries and Hawks Cemetery.
In all Shelburne cemeteries combined, there are approximately 11,200 graves.
* Hawks Cemetery is in Deerfield, adjacent to the Shelburne Town line.
